Yet he writes as if he lives in the perfumed stockroom of a Namaste superstore. In Trump, Rushdie finds such a perfect villain that he finds it hard to let him go. It has a wonderful ending that children are continually surprised by. How do these books end up 'out of print'? Maybe we'll still bring it out and force them to listen to it! A classic for little ones such a shame it is out of print and so expensive.

Ive managed to collect them all. Increasingly, however, Rushdie has left cool English so far behind that his fiction has grown bombastic and close to unreadable. They want me to read each and every one of her books. I remember Mousekin and the discarded pumpkin he lived in, and the Christmas book where he had to find a new home, and the Springtime book where he discovered all the woodland animals being born. It's a book adults can love reading to children.

We watch as the mouse busies herself preparing the nest and then settling in, and then as fall turns to winter, the pumpkin begins to settle, the cutout mouth, etc. Maybe we'll still bring it out and force them to listen to it! I am amazed it is still out of print and hopeful that more people will ask for it so I won't have to borrow it all the time! A classic for little ones such a shame it is out of print and so expensive.

Beautiful story and illustrations. I bought a copy for my wife for Christmas. She loves them so much she checks them out week after week.

In fact, last year I carved a pumpkin specifically to look like a mouse's house. Anything can happen, so nothing matters. It's a shame this one is no longer in print.

I have "called" her copy of "Golden House" for my daughter. This particular edition is in a Hardcover format. Great books. Here is a beautifully illustrated and beautifully told story that never should go out of print.

It has the sweetest story about a little mouse and his quest for a warm winter home. Similar Books. The other Mousekin stories are wonderful, too. The book inspired me and excited me, filling my imagination with images of the seasons ahead. Hopefully, someone out in the publishing world will see this and the other comments and find a way to bring back Mousekin!

A generation of children are going to grow up without knowing the wonders of the terrific descriptive writting and the beautiful art work of this series. I have borrowed this book from our school library every year.

Researching a movie about the Goldens, he ingratiates himself into their household. I am also a member of the National Storytelling Association and know it is rare to find stories that one can read to an audience of all ages, but Mousekin's Golden House is one.

It is a wonderful tale! Each sentence seems to be composed of stardust, pixie dust, fairy dust, angel dust, fennel pollen and gris-gris powder, poached in single-udder butter, fried and refried, encrusted with gold as if it were a Gustav Klimt painting, and then dotted Mousekins Golden House book rhinestones.

He began to rule over his neighborhood like a benevolent emperor, although in spite of his charming smile and his skill at playing his Guadagnini violin he exuded a heavy, cheap odor, the unmistakable smell of crass, despotic Mousekins Golden House book, the kind of scent that warned us, look out for this guy, because he could order your execution at any moment, if you're wearing a displeasing shirt, for example, or if he wants Fun book, with great illustrations By Ben on Oct 28, Another hit with my grandkids.About mousekins golden house - mousekins golden house was written by Edna Miller.
